Applefest

this is a wonderful event taking place in the quintessential autumn town of warwick ny. looking for a country getaway this sunday? make the trip to warwick ny. a fun filled event full of varying types of vendors and booths will be taking over downtown. if that isn't enough for you there are plenty of apple orchards to go picking at around town. they also offer other fun seasonal things like hay rides or corn mazes. for adults check out the winery and have a tasting. the hard cider is famous. anyway you do it....this sunday in warwick ny is like no other around. don't miss out!

Another new store to carry daa glass is The Artful Hand located at 36 Copley Place in Boston, MA. They are stocking a wide variety of beauties, such as the newly popular Rosemary collection and the always stunning Sea Salt collection! Anyone in the Boston are, this store is a must see. It features a wide range of fantastic artisan work.

New Edition

A new addition to our growing lists of retailers is New Editions Gallery located at 807 Euclid Ave, right in the heart of Lexington, KY. New Editions is a private gallery that specializes in promoting contemporary works of art. Stop in to view some wonderful art and then pick up something from the daa glass Nutmeg collection as they have many to choose from. Or if you are needing something a little more dressy, look for the Lucille collection. Of course there are plenty of other daa glass beauties for sale in the gallery.

Hoboken Event

This weekend - Sunday Sept 24th - is the Hoboken Art & Music Festival. If you are in the NY/NJ area and looking for something to do this Sunday - come check it out.

Things have been super busy!!!! By this I mean Super and Busy and Super Busy!!!! daa glass just got back from the prestigious Philadelphia Buyers Market of Fine American Craft (link to their site here) We showed the new Fall 06 collection which will go live online retail in early September. We will have a great sale on the current collection starting mid August, but that is for another post....back to the show..... We met some wonderful store/gallery owners and will be shipping new jewelry to many new stores and galleries/museams. We are so excited for this!
These days, we are preparing for the ENK Accessories Circuit show which runs August 6-8th. We are booth 740, so if you are planning on being there stop in and say hi! Now back to work.

Weekend Fun!

This weekend daa headed up to Warwick, NY to spend time with friends and catch the Warwick Summer Arts Festival. If anyone is in the area and looking for a nice afternoon with friends or family consider it. Warwick on a normal day is a great desination, but from July 7th - July 16th, it has extra appeal. They are having art shows, workshops, and music performances. There is also something called The Mannequin Project going on in conjunction with the festival. There are 30 mannequins throughout the town which have been a blank canvas for local artists. The theme for these creations is "peoples impact on the environment." It is fun to spot the mannequins around the town and interesting to see what the artists have come up with. The photos above are a few of these mannequins. The only thing these lovely ladies were missing was a little daa glass...hehehehe. For more info about the festival link to www.warwickarts.org or www.warwickinfo.net

Also this weekend daa was rooting for Italia!!!!! And WAHOOOOOOOOOOO they won!!! Daa will miss the World Cup but is happy their favorite team won!

I recently threw my sisters shower and used a company called Paper Source for the invitations, decorations, and other paper needs. They are a wonderful online store, with a few brick and mortar locations, who sell beautiful paper products. The letterpress items are what first caught my eye. I absolutely LOVE letterpress, but it is expensive. We got the do it yourself invitations which were a little bit of work, but WELL WORTH IT!!!!! We got so many compliments on them. Their slogan is great too! "Do something creative everyday." The company is easy to work with and very reliable. I highly recommend checking them out. LINK HERE

What a Week!!

Ever have one of those weeks?? It starts out as one of those days...and then by Wednesday, you know you are in for it. Well that was the kind of week we had last week. Lets just put it this way, it started out on Monday, with someone driving their car into the studio, right through the garage door. What a mess. I will not continue on with the rest of the week, but needless to say it did not get much better. This situation put daa glass a bit behind, but we are back at full force now. It is a new week and we are off to a great start, knocking wood as I type! :)

it's been a while....

A very long while. I have been quite busy working and recently returned from a wonderful trip to Italy. I am going to make an effort to update here with daa glass related info along with a few personal thoughts, photos, etc. I have a lot of ground to make up so I will get started now.
